What is ROB?

Well, apart from being a rather handsome character at the top right hand side of the site, R|O|B is actually Bangkok’s first online Social Dining Directory. It is about restaurants and those people who live and eat in the wonderful city of Bangkok.

Social Dining Directory? Well, it means that the city’s food enthusiasts, Bangkok’s regular diners, can meet up with individual restaurants across the city on R|O|B in an interactive way. They can connect immediately and interact directly and share their views on wining and dining.

Explain! Diners can search for restaurants by location, by name or by type of cuisine. They can see the menu, read and write reviews and become a Fan so that they have access to offers, promotions and event news.

Sounding good so far? It gets better. Planning a party or an event can be a bit of a headache and always takes up so much time, let's face it. But within only a few months from now, the R|O|B interactive platform will launch a new tool that provides help with planning events by matching suitable restaurants to the planner's requirements. No more calling around to find the best deals. (This feature will be available by the middle of April 2010)

How about the social part? Diners can share their ideas and links to restaurants on R|O|B with their Facebook friends as well as invite them out for a nosh-up at a specific restaurant. Even better, foodies will be able to post their favorite dishes on their Facebook and tell all their friends to try it out. Eventually R|O|B will publish the best dishes in Bangkok and diners will be able to find out where to go for their favorite dish.

What is in it for the restaurants? Restaurants can be on the fastest growing restaurant guide for Bangkok and reach a large number of frequent diners and foodies. Not only can they reach out to their Fans and customers with offers but they can hear back from R|O|B’s foodie visitors directly. They can update their menus, image galleries and offers, knowing that Bangkok has listened!
