About Us

The idea for Restaurants of Bangkok (ROB) was conceived one rainy afternoon when we were online trying to find the best hamburger in town. After searching for an hour one of us suggested to post the question on Facebook to see what kind of answers would roll out. We received a lot of suggestions but no absolute answer, which of course we hadn’t expected since taste is non-debatable.

We found from people around us that there was a lot of interest in knowing where they could find the best of everything i.e. the best Tom Yam, the best pizza, the best steak, the best Tandoori etc. based on a popular vote.

In addition, a large group of people we talked to would love to share their culinary experiences with friends online and have a platform where they could find good deals and get discounts on meals and drinks.

We conducted some research and came across many restaurant owners who also would love to be part of an online social platform catering to the dining community of Bangkok.

The idea for Restaurants of Bangkok was born and so we embarked on our mission to build the first social dining directory of Bangkok.

The ROB team consists of 14 people with the majority being web designers and developers. Five writers go out there and explore the weird and wonderful world of wining and dining in Bangkok on a daily basis and the sales team of three visits restaurants continually to make sure the website has a continuous influx of new restaurants.
