Start off your meal with one of the many tropical smoothies they offer such as the Mango Mango Smoothie, a luscious Lychee Smoothie or cool off with a refreshing Coconut Smoothie. No matter which one you choose, satisfaction is guaranteed as all the smoothies are well balanced, refreshing and generous in size.

Recommended starters include the Crab Cakes with Mango Sauce and the Pomello Salad. The crab cakes are phenomenal. They are incredibly light and chocked full of delectable crab meat with very little filler. Perfectly seasoned to let the rich flavor of the crab take center stage, they are well matched with the sweet and savory mango sauce. The Pomello salad is truly an inspiration. Chilled and shredded pomello is served with toasted coconut, peanuts, chili, lime and a succulent prawn. This is a bold dish that hits every taste and texture sensation in the mouth. It is a delightful explosion of salty, sweet, sour, spicy, soft, and crunchy; which is best described as total satisfaction on a plate.

Another unique offering is the Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken) which is a special family recipe from the manager, Mr. Patrick Kevin Booth. You can order either the half chicken or the whole chicken and it is served with sticky rice and made fresh to order Som Tum. The marinated chicken is juicy and moist and is not as sweet as the more traditional recipe. It is well balanced with a deep smokey flavor that makes it quite memorable. The Stir Fried Soft Shell Crab is also very good, but not spectacular as there are other versions in Bangkok that are equally as good. Jim Thompson also has their very own pastry chef onsite and they have a fantastic array of cookies, cakes and pastries. The Strawberry Yogurt Cake is light and bursting with fresh sweet red strawberries and complemented with a tangy yogurt sauce. This dessert will not leave you feeling weighed down. The Cha Yen (Milk Tea) Cake is another stand out dessert that is a unique interpretation of how to deliver a real “Taste of Thailand” in a scrumptious and delicious way.

Most people do not associate the Jim Thompson brand with signature cocktails, but Saladaeng Cafe breaks that mold. They have an ongoing daily “Happy Hour” from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM where guests can enjoy “buy 1 get 1 free” on house wines, Singha beer and all cocktails. The Passion Fruit Mojito is one of the best versions of a mojito ever tried. The signature “Legendary” cocktail is made from mango liqueur, premium vodka, coconut juice and a few other “secret ingredients” and is pretty close to perfection in a martini glass. Any one of the cocktail choices available makes for a relaxing end to a satisfying meal at Jim Thompson.

Jim Thompson prides itself on delivering “Thai food, for Thai Taste” and actively sources the freshest ingredients locally from the Jim Thomson Pak Thong Chai Farm jimthompson.com/farm . The menu features both Thai and International cuisine and there is something to appeal to even the most discerning palates on the menu. If you enjoy bright and bold cuisine combined with light and clean flavor profiles, then you won’t be disappointed with Saladaeng Café by Jim Thompson.
