And they do it right! Indian Hut was awarded the “Best Indian Food Restaurant” by Thailand Tattler and Bangkok Dining Entertainment, many, many times over the course of their 17 years in business.
So what’s their ultimate trade secret after all? Three things mainly.
First is their consistency. The chefs at Indian Hut have been working there since it opened in 1995, so whether you visited 10 years ago, or 10 days ago, you can be rest assured that you’ll get the same, high-quality food that you have enjoyed on previous occasions. They are the culinary masters who have studied the Royal Cuisines of the Royal Houses of India and brought them back to Bangkok with an exotic array of dishes.
Secondly, their ability to tailor a meal exactly to your liking—they’ve got an uncanny knack for spicing things up just right, whether you like it creamy, spicy, or sweet. This is the taste-tailoring which is enhanced by their third secret and that is, relationships. At Indian Hut, it isn’t about selling a dish; it’s about creating a memorable meal for a friend. Regulars come back again and again because of this and the staff at Indian Hut doesn’t forget how you like your food. And, just like in any relationship, it takes two—the management and the wait-staff at Indian Hut truly care about your experience and actively solicit their honest customer feedback and take it to heart.
Their menu is vast and features a large selection of Premium Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian and Grilled specialties. Some favorites are their Murg Malai Kebab, Kabuli Raan, Tandoori Prawns, and Mutton Rogan Josh. At Indian Hut, they are reluctant to identify any “Speciality dishes” because they’ve really mastered everything in their menu. The consistent menu has an array of dishes which suits the palate from mild to spicy tongues of the customers. On my visit, I had a chance to sample a variety of items and have to say, they were all amazing.
There are particular options of note in the menu. The extensive Vegetarian offerings, the Indian - Chinese dishes, a unique Jain menu, and the Tawa Tak-A-Tak (Indian sizzlers on Hot plate).
For Vegetarians, the Paneer Butter Masala, made with home-made cottage cheese is just lovely. They also have the mouth watering Palak Kofta, Vegetable Jalfrezi and the great Bar – B - Qued vegetable platter. Indian Hut also offers an innovative Indian - Chinese cuisine that has been carefully prepared after years of experience—be sure to try the Chinese Soups, Chilli Paneer, Vegetable Manchurian, Vegetable Hakka Noodles, Sichuan Fried Rice, which all gets prepared to your liking, from medium to spicy palates. And for people with a Jain diet, it can sometimes be difficult finding places in Bangkok that will cater to the no onion, no garlic and no roots restrictions—however, at Indian Hut, there are a number of delicious dishes to choose from the exclusive Jain Menu. And for an extraordinary dining experience, be sure to try something a little different, their Tawa Tak-A-Tak, or Indian Sizzlers on hot plate—which is available with lamb, chicken or vegetables which are so flavorful and come perfectly seasoned.
Indian Hut is well lit and has a nice street-side view dining area that can accommodate an intimate dinner for two or more persons. And if you are thinking of hosting a big event on a River Cruise or a marriage function, their specialized catering team is always willing to assist you.
Further, they also have a large party room at the second floor of their restaurant which can accommodate up to a gathering of 70 people for birthday celebrations or private get together events. They also have the facility of setting up “Live Cooking Stations” in the Outdoor Caterings where the party goers can see their food being prepared before them. Indian Hut regularly provides food for parties at Bangkok’s 5 star hotels and in private homes. So next time you have an upcoming wedding event, birthday celebration or any corporate function be sure to call Indian Hut- where they are passionate about making your event more lively and extra-special!
Be sure to visit Indian Hut very soon, where you’re guaranteed a fine meal, great service and a great drink selection and likely, you’ll make a new friend too.
